Are summer courses taken during your undergraduate work looked down upon by medical schools?
Q. Are summer courses taken during your undergraduate work looked down upon by medical schools? I was misplaced in Calculus and had to drop it. My options are to take Calculus II during the summer or to add it onto my already large course-load next year.
A. I took every medical prereq except orgo at summer school. (to the horror of my premed advisor!) In fact, I went to an ivy league school for undergrad, but, for financial reasons, I took all of these courses at smaller, less well known colleges. And, I'm now in medical school. I can't imagine that any school would look down on a summer course you took at your regular university.
