How To Get A GedQ. I really need someones help, Its really important, my future. When I was in sixth grade I left school ( I am 17 now). Was going to go into Homeschooling, then no one was willing to help me. I've done work since then, and am probably at a Tenth grade level now. I want to get my GED, so I can have a sucessful life, well maybe. I've been really depressed about this lately, and don't know what to do. Can someone please tell me where I can start learning to the stuff for my GED? Any Books? Vedios? Software or something... I really need your help. A. This is what you should do. 1. Call any community college and ask where you need to go to take the GED. 2. Go totally unprepared and just take the test. It is given in sections, some of which you might pass. You may even pass the whole thing. You only have to take again what you don' pass the first timeA lot of learning is incidental. From grades 8-12 there is not as much learning taking place as some would have you believe. When all is said and done, you may know more than you think already. 3. Having taken the test, you will know what areas you need to work on. communities have free GED prep programs. You can get in one of those or just learn on your own. 4. Going to middle school and high school helps of course but nothing magical happens there nor does anything magical happen when you get a GED or a High School Diploma. 5. What is probably hurting you more than the lack of a diploma is a lack of confidence. Once you get the GED which you will find is pretty easy, go to a junior college and take some of their standardized tests and get admitted. You may have to take a few refresher courses which they will offer before you can take courses for college credit. 6. From this point on keep learning for the rest of your life.
