Ged Org
Q. My dad uses FTM V2.0 (from Banner Blue, Fremont, California and NOT Broderbund). I use PAF 4.0 and FTM 4.4 for Windows. I've recently exported my large database from PAF 4 in GED format and sent it to my dad hoping that he would be able to import it int FTM 2.0. But...it appears that FTM 2.0 does NOT support GED ! Does anyone know of some genealogical software that he could replace FTM 2.0 that will run on an old, slow, minimal memory, minimal hard disc space system ? He does have Windows 3.1 so something that would run under that and support GED and FTM files would be ideal.
A. That's not entirely correct. It is true that Banner Blue's first product was called Org Plus and was an organizational charting software. It was during customer surveys that we found many people using Org Plus to create family trees. However, Org Plus and Family Tree Maker have always been two completely separate programs. There was no way to get GEDCOM into Org Plus.
