I recently passed my driving test and Iam looking to get insurance for a car.So do any car rental firms give out cars to people who have had a license for less than a year?Q. I recently passed my driving test.Iam looking to get insurance for a car but the problem is that, over the next year,I may split my time between Ireland and the UK (and drive the car between the 2 countries). I think most insurance companies only cover one country or the other so I am not sure what to do.Also,it is my dad's car and he lives in Ireland.Could I get a multiple driver insurance with him as the main driver as this reduces the premiums greatly. Also do any car rental firms give out cars to people who have had a license for less than a year(I am 27). A. Most insurance co's will happily do this...In this situation they'll simply transfer the deceased husbands NCD over to the widow...As the widow would have been(in most cases)a better risk rating, the resulting premium will nearly always work out lower than it was in the husbands name... I think DL are aiming this feature more at young drivers...Little Johnny has just passed his test at the tender age of 17,and goes on his dad's insurance as a named driver for a few years...Eventually, he saves up enough pennies to go and buy himself a wee motor, and starts looking for insurance of his own...He shops around and gets some horrendous quotes from companies who refuse to honour the NCD...then he speaks do DL, who say "Oh,I see you've earned 2 years NCD as a named driver",and promptly quote him a figure 50% cheaper than any other insurance company can manage... They aren't just retaining customers...They're breeding new ones...It's pure genius... Other Questions : What do you think about drivers nowadays?I commute to work every day (by bike of couse) and I see so many bad auto drivers doing the stupidest things. It's so annoying I'd like to start carrying a big club so the next time one of those in a hurry, distracted, irresponsible, untrained m...
