Good Distance Education College in Bay Area ?Q. I am looking for colleges in Bay Area, Northern California who offer M.S in Computers part-time/distance education. Suggestions please. Does Stanford or Berkeley offer any such courses? Where can I get more information? A. If you're looking for distance education, location should not be a factor. Part-time is possible at almost any school - you'd have to contact those in the Bay Area directly for course schedules, of course. But.. if it's DL you're looking for, there are many excellent resources. One which comes to mind immediately is Colorado State University, which offers a totally non-resident MS Computer Science via their "SURGE" program. They mail/UPS you videotapes of the lectures, you mail/fax your work back in. Their URL is http://www.colostate.edu/Depts/CE/SURGE.html Stanford offers some graduate level courses via distance ed (their "ADEPT" program), but not entire programs, as yet. I didn't see anything about distance ed on Berkeley's web pages - you'll have to research that yourself, I'm afraid. Other schools which offer distance ed Master's in computers are (non-inclusive) Nova Southeastern Auburn New Jersey Inst. of Tech. U. of Minn. U. of Phoenix National Technological Univ. U. of Colo - Boulder Okla. State Univ. U. of Nebraska - Lincoln Georgia Inst. of Tech. U. of Idaho U. of Wisconsin - Madison and probably many others, too.
